The College has a long history dating back to 1971 when it was started as a collaborative effort by the Quaker church missionaries from the United States and the local community. It was later on taken over by the government of Kenya, thus becoming a fully fledged public institution.
With Clerkson N. Barasa (the Principal) at the helm, the college is considerably expanding its physical facilities. The College is also making deliberate effort to enhance its information and communication technology capacity. We now have a functioning e-library and well equipped computer laboratories. An information management system has been installed and more modules are being activated in order to enable the college become fully computerized in its operations.
With these developments, the College now has the ability and capacity to respond to emerging market training needs by diversifying its training programmes with a focus on engineering courses both at diploma and certificate level. In line with this, the college has launched new engineering courses in Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, Building Construction, Plumbing and Automotive. Other courses like Fashion Design and Garment Making, Hair dressing and Beauty Therapy have been introduced. More Courses are due to be launched in due course.
