GUIDING AND COUNSELING

The department is run by a team of lecturers drawn from all the departments. This team is guided by principals of confidentiality which entail the client privacy. During the counseling process and maintaining the counseling records in a confidential manner.

Another guiding principal is autonomy, the counseling services provided are aimed at empowering the client to make appropriate decisions, choose their own direction and take necessary actions to reverse the situations.

During the counseling process, we try as much as possible to respect the dignity and promote the welfare of the client by refraining from actions that may hurt both emotionally and physically among others.

Through the support of the administration the department has been able to organize a number of awareness talks on alcohol and drug abuse and career guidance. All this are done with the aim of equipping the client with knowledge and skills to enable them face life with an open and positive mind.

To provide guidance and counseling services for intellectual, personal, social and spiritual development.

OBJECTIVES

  1. To provide quality and efficient guidance and counseling to students, teaching and non teaching staff to enable them cope up with emerging life challenges.
  2. To provide career guidance towards attainment of academic excellence to meet the changing market demands.
  3. To carry out regular alcohol, drug and substance abuse awareness to students and staff towards achievement of an alcohol and drug free institution.
  4. To carry out regular HIV / AIDS awareness and V.C.T to students and staff.
